#1. Jalen Hurts, MVP
This sounds absolutely insane, but, remember, this IS a bold prediction. Hurts had a good 2021 campaign, with 16 TDs to 10 INTs. He also had 10 rushing touchdowns and led the Eagles to a playoff game, where they lost to a Tom Brady-led Bucs. Philly has gone all-in on getting Hurts needed weapons this offseason. You will recall they traded for AJ Brown during the draft. Philly also grabbed a potential starter in Cam Jurgens for the offensive line. Devonta Smith is heading into Year 2 with breakout expectations and Dallas Goedert is a top-ten tight end. Looking good for Hurts in Philly!
#2. Desmond Ridder, Day 1 Starter
The Atlanta Falcons got a good one in Ridder. He definitely has the physicality and a solid frame with a good arm, but what makes Ridder stand out to me is his intangible. I’ll reiterate what I said in my profile on Ridder, he has great leadership skills and is a positive locker room presence. The Falcons absolutely need that as they are going through a major rebuild. Marcus Mariota has an injury history, something that Ridder does not have. If Ridder wins over his teammates, he could win the competition in camp.
#3. The Revival Of Saquon Barkley
Saquon hasn’t done much since his spectacular rookie season, but he isn’t entirely to blame. The Giants have given him a hefty workload, especially, early in the season, resulting in a physical breakdown over the course of 17 games. We’ve seen the scenario with other running backs before such as Todd Gurley and Adrian Peterson, both are not out of the league. But I believe Barkley can bounce back. The Giants have reinforced the offensive line by picking up Evan Neal in the draft. I can see Barkley being the feature back once again in New York.
