#5 Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Much of Evans’s fantasy success is due to Tom Brady, but Evans has always shown the traits of a top receiver. Evans has the physical frame, 6’ 5”, which is ideal for a big receiver, and has exceptional footwork for such a large man. He is a possession receiver meaning he won’t get you many yards after the catch, but will have a better chance of getting a reception than your average receiver. Evans has the ability to get 10 to 12 catches a game, meaning you could average up to 20 points a game, a good point net for a receiver.

#4 Julio Jones, Tennessee Titans

Finally, Julio, former Falcon, gets a change of scenery after his trade to the Titans. Jones had seven straight 1,000 yard seasons until 2020 when he missed several games due to injury. Julio realized that the Falcons were leaning towards rebuilding after they let Austin Hooper and Keanu Neal walk in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Jones found a suitor in Tennessee, who already has AJ Brown and Josh Reynolds at the receiver position. Julio has a high fantasy upside, and with Ryan Tannehill throwing him the ball, he will get more deep catches than his days in Atlanta. As a result, Jones could easily average in the 20-25 point range, which is very good for a 30+ year-old receiver.

#3 Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs

Hill is the most explosive receiver on this list, but not the most consistent. After a blockbuster 2020 season, with career highs in yards and touchdowns, Hill didn’t put up great numbers every game. At the time, the Chiefs had numerous other offensive options. But in 2021, after the departures of Sammy Watkins and running back Damien Williams, Hill should receive a larger share of their targets. Hill averaged 26.4 points in 2020, and could easily reach those numbers again. He is a definite Top 3 pick.

#2 Deandre Hopkins, Arizona Cardinals

We’re still reeling from the 2019 bombshell when Deandre Hopkins was traded from Houston to Arizona for an injury-prone David Johnson and a second-round pick. Arizona got the same production from Hopkins as Houston – a 1,000-yard season and 10+ TDs. In 2020, Hopkins was the #2 fantasy receiver behind Davante Adams. Hopkins will get you catches every game, given he’s the number one target in the loaded Arizona offense that includes: AJ Green, Rondale Moore, and Christian Kirk. Deandre has WR1 written all over him and can average up to 28 points per game (2020 numbers). A first-round lock in any type of league.

#1 Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers

DA17 is the best fantasy receiver in every aspect starting with receptions per game and ending with touchdowns. Last season Adams led the league in receptions per game, with 12 being his average. Moreover, Adams missed three games due to a turf toe injury, which affected his play. Nevertheless, Adams and Aaron Rodgers championed the league in QB-WR duo touchdowns. Adams led all fantasy receivers in points per game (27.5), receptions (12), and yards (101.2). Tae is coming into a season fully healthy, and with A-Rods return, things should go well in Titletown.
