QB Trends: Rodgers Up, Brady Down

PLAY CALLERS AND PLAYMAKERS

TRENDING UP

AARON RODGERS

Rodgers put together another stellar performance in Week 15, throwing for 283 yards and 3 TDs. The Packers eked out a 31-30 win over a banged-up Ravens squad and looked weak on defense. However, Rodgers has established himself as the MVP frontrunner after another great passing day.

TYLER HUNTLEY

Lamar Jackson’s nagging ankle injury forced him out of the lineup against the Packers, so the undrafted QB out of Utah got the start. Huntley looked like a seasoned pro, throwing for 2 TDs and rushing for two more, a feat that Lamar hasn’t even achieved. With Jackson returning for the Week 16 matchup, Huntley will return to the bench, but he may return in 2022.

PATRICK MAHOMES

Finally, Mahomes looked like himself in Week 15, throwing for 410 yards and 2 TDs in a win over the Chargers. Mahomes has struggled to get the ball to his receivers this season, but now he looks like an elite QB once again. Gone are the days of bad throws and triple-covered receivers – the return of Mahomes is among us.

TRENDING DOWN

RYAN TANNEHILL

Tannehill looks lost without Derrick Henry, but somehow Tennessee continued putting up W’s, until Sunday. The Titans got exposed offensively by the Steelers, who have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. Tannehill struggled to move the ball passing. Meanwhile, Dont’a Foreman was a bright spot on a weak offense. Somehow, Tannehill and the Titans need to survive until Henry returns.

TOM BRADY

Never doubt Tom Brady but after a bad showing against the Saints, it’s admittedly hard not to question TB. Brady not only had a bad game, but he also lost Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Leonard Fournette to injury. I think Brady can bounce back, and he gets AB back from suspension next week.

CAM NEWTON

We had our fun when Cam Newton returned to Carolina, but now it’s evident that he is no longer an NFL starter. Newton’s shoulder looks shattered, and his body is just broken altogether. Newton is the Derrick Rose of the NFL, imagine what he could have been without the injuries.
