NFL Week 4 Studs and Duds

THE WHISTLEBLOWER’S PICKS

Stud 1: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Last week against the Niners, Aaron Rodgers rediscovered his familiar swag. Now Rodgers and Green Bay head back home to Lambeau Field for a matchup with the Steelers. The Steelers will be without TJ Watt, relieving pressure in the Green Bay O-line. Therefore, expect a big game from Rodgers.

Dud 1: Mac Jones, New England Patriots

Mac Jones struggled versus the Saints in Week 3, throwing three picks and losing in a blowout. Even worse is what’s next on the Pats schedule – the Tampa Bay defense. The Bucs’ defense is looking to bounce back after last week’s loss to the Rams. Jones doesn’t do well under pressure and the Bucs have an elite pass rush. Might be another rough week for the rookie.

Stud 2: Cordalle Patterson, Atlanta Falcons

Cordalle Patterson has chartered a strange career path. He started as a returner in Minnesota, then changed to a receiver, and is now a running back. Currently, Patterson is the main scorer in the Atlanta offense that also features Kyle Pitts and Calvin Ridley. Look for Patterson to post the same numbers in Week 4 as Weeks 1-3.

Dud 2: David Montgomery, Chicago Bears

2021 was expected to be the BIG one for David Montgomery, but so far he has disappointed. The Bears’ offense has been stagnant, and the terrible O-line has made for bad rushing holes. Montgomery has not yet peaked 100 yards this season, so keep that in mind before banking on him.

Stud 3: Mike Williams, LA Chargers

Mike Williams is building a case for a major contract thus far this season. Williams is leading the Chargers in receiving yards AND receptions. Furthermore, Williams and Justin Herbert look to be on the same page and have managed to stay healthy. Williams is an elite downfield threat and should burn defenses for weeks to come.

Dud 3: Marquise Brown, Baltimore Ravens

After Weeks 1 and 2, Hollywood’s game looked much improved. However, everything went off the rails in Week 3. Brown dropped not one, not two, but three touchdown passes. He had zero catches in a nailbiter victory over the Lions. The Ravens face the undefeated Broncos this week. The Broncos have an elite secondary, featuring the likes of Pat Surtain ll, Bryce Callahan, and Justin Simmons. Therefore, the Ravens will primarily feature their potent rushing attack leaving the passing attack in the backseat.
