NFL Mock Draft 2021 1.0

AN ACCURATE AND REALISTIC PREDICTION

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

This pick really needs no explanation.

  1. New York Jets – Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

I honestly think Wilson is the 4th best QB in this class (Lawrence, Fields, Lance), but the Jets, barring a Deshaun Watson trade, find their replacement for Sam Darnold.

  1. Miami Dolphins – DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

Given that the Fins have made a statement committing to Tua, they select the 2020 Heisman Winner, and a receiver with a prior relationship with the Fins’ current QB.

  1. Atlanta Falcons – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

Now, I considered Penei Sewell at this pick, but the Falcons grab the Ohio State star at 4, and he will sit behind Matt Ryan for the near future.

  1. Cincinnati Bengals – Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

Bengals snag the top rated tackle in this draft, and he will protect Joe Burrow from the pass rush of the AFC North.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

With Fields off the board, the Eagles get a much-needed weapon for Jalen Hurts.

  1. Detroit Lions – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

Lions grab the top-rated corner, who had opted out of the 2020 season, to pair with Jeff Okudah, their 2020 1st-rounder.

  1. Carolina Panthers – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

The Panthers grab their future quarterback, who is raw, but extremely talented.

  1. Denver Broncos – Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

The Broncos have Bryce Callahan, an elite slot corner, but with the release of A.J. Bouye, they need an outside corner. Surtain is their man.

  1. Dallas Cowboys – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

Pitts’ fall lands him in Dallas, where he is paired with one of the most proficient offenses in the NFC.

  1. New York Giants – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Giants grab a weapon for Danny Dimes.

  1. San Francisco 49ers – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern

Niners get protection for Jimmy G and the eventual replacement for Trent Williams.

  1. Los Angeles Chargers – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

Chargers get protection for their franchise QB Justin Herbert.

  1. Minnesota Vikings – Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC

Doesn’t matter the QB for the Vikes’ this man will get the job done.

  1. New England Patriots – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

Parsons is an absolute beast at the LB position, just the player that the Pats’ need.

  1. Arizona Cardinals – Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

Cards get much-needed protection for the former 1st Overall Pick Kyler Murray.

  1. Las Vegas Raiders – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

Gruden would consider Mac Jones here given his love for QBs, but Mike Mayock and the Raider select the versatile LB.

  1. Miami Dolphins – Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Miami selects another Bama’ player, the dominant back for the Crimson Tide.

  1. Washington Football Team – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

Washington has a glaring need at QB and Linebacker, but Jenkins is a great tackle and will fill the need at tackle.

  1. Chicago Bears – Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota

No matter the QB for Chicago, Bateman, Mooney, and Robinson will form a terrifying trio for NFL defenses.

  1. Indianapolis Colts – Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami

Rousseau’s fall ends here, with the Colts improving their already elite defense with Rousseau’s talents.

  1. Tennessee Titans – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan

Following the disappointing season by Harold Landry, and the injury to Jadeveon Clowney, the Titans land the EDGE beast from Michigan.

  1. New York Jets – Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson

Etienne would be a top 5 pick in 2005, but here he drops to the early 20s, even so Etienne is an elite back with a very high ceiling.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Steelers get an elite shutdown corner to replace Joe Haden.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan

The Jags get protection for their franchise QB.

  1. Cleveland Browns – Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami

Browns already have Myles Garrett, a Pro Bowl DE, but now after missing out on J.J. Watt, they land the EDGE threat from Miami.

  1. Baltimore Ravens – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia

Baltimore replaces Matt Judon with this athletic freak from Georgia.

  1. New Orleans Saints – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

Jones will thrive in Sean Payton’s spread offense, but first he will sit behind either Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston.

  1. Green Bay Packers – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

Green Bay lands a LB who can rush or jump back in coverage. Collins is a high floor LB with tremendous talent.

  1. Buffalo Bills – Christian Barmore, IDL, Alabama

Given Ed Oliver’s somewhat unproductive start to his career, Barmore may become the interior threat that Bills need.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs – Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Imagine this, Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, and Toney all on the field at the same time, talk about a headache for NFL defenses.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Creed Humphrey, IOL, Oklahoma

The Bucs get an interior lineman that will protect TB12 for the remainder of his career.
