Last Chance NFL QBs: Make It or Break It

1. Baker Mayfield

One thing is for certain for the Cleveland Browns, Mayfield won’t play this season. Cleveland traded a massive haul for Deshaun Watson, who will likely be their franchise QB. However, Watson is facing a six-game suspension as a result of his ongoing off-field drama. But the Browns have been clear that journeyman Jacoby Brissett will start during that time. Meanwhile, Mayfield hasn’t generated much trade interest, but if he does end up on a team, he’ll be on a short leash.

2. Tua Tagovailoa

With recent additions to the Miami Dolphin’s roster, Tagovailoa is being set up for success in 2022. Stud receiver Jaylen Waddle gained the perfect complement with speedster Tyreek Hill, who is, arguably, the best athlete in the NFL. Offensive genius Mike McDaniel will bring the best out of Tua, but will Tua’s best be enough? If Tua doesn’t flourish, there will be plenty of replacement options for Miami.

3. Daniel Jones

Danny begins his fourth year, and if he sinks, he’s done. Throughout his tenure, Jones has demonstrated flashes of the brilliant arm talent and athleticism that made him a first-round pick. But Jones has also struggled with fumbles, interceptions, and injury issues. While the Giants’ O-Line could bear some blame, similar issues have arisen within the Bengals and Chargers organizations who both have successful young QBs.
