#5: Jalen Hurts
Jalen Hurts was a PPR league menace last year, primarily because of his rushing prowess. Hurts threw 16 TDs and 10 INTs, while those numbers may be unimpressive, consider the lack of weapons Hurts possessed. However, in 2022, Hurts will have AJ Brown, a healthy Dallas Goedert, and the more experienced Devonta Smith. I expect Hurts to have a 25/13 floor and a 36/9 ceiling.
#4: Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers wasn’t always the most viable fantasy QB, but the last few years have changed the narrative. Rodgers nabbed back-to-back MVPs and led the league in passing touchdowns and yards twice in the last five years. It remains to be seen how the loss of Davante Adams will affect the Packers. But Rodgers has plenty of other weapons at his disposal, such as Aaron Jones, Sammy Watkins, Robert Tonyan, Christian Watson, and AJ Dillon. Rodgers has the highest floor of these QBs, with a 40/6 and a 50/4 ceiling.
#3: Lamar Jackson
Action Jackson got off to a hot start in 2021, looking like he was back to his MVP form, but over time Baltimore had a lot of injuries, including Jackson’s. Baltimore should bounce back in 2022, especially with the return of Lamar and Mark Andrews. I believe Lamar will have a 30/10 ceiling with 12 rushing touchdowns.
#2: Patrick Mahomes
Mahomes was my QB1 last season, but the Chiefs have since declined. The Chiefs traded Tyreek Hill to Miami; meanwhile, the rest of their division has improved. On the other hand, Mahomes still has Travis Kelce and the Chiefs signed JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdez-Scantling. I expect Mahomes to have a 32/14 floor and a 46/7 ceiling.
#1: Josh Allen
In my opinion, Josh Allen was last year’s best quarterback. Unfortunately, the Bills were a singular defensive stop away from an AFC Championship game and Allen’s season came to a disappointing end. Allen has the passing game and a sneakily good run game to match. His weapons include Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Cole Beasley, and Dawson Knox. I expect Allen to have a 34/10 floor and a 50/8 floor with 5 rushing touchdowns.
